Ever felt like watching Pimp My Ride or the latest music videos on your mobile instead of playing one of the basic videogames while waiting for an appointment or on the bus? Now you can with the new mobile service offered by MTV and Go.

The new service, launched yesterday, allows users to download popular MTV programmes such as Pimp My Ride, Jackass, Laguna Beach and The Island or stream the station live, all for free.

All you have to do is switch to MTV Mobile service, which is offered by Go. The service package includes an offer of 1c per text message and voice and video calls at 25c per hour, while MMS costs 15c.

MTV Mobile is a pre-paid mobile service and clients can choose to buy a new Sim card or switch network and keep their number. Customers can also use it abroad and benefit from Go's roaming network coverage in 197 countries.

Calls between MTV Mobile customers will cost 25c an hour. Text messages cost 1c as a launch rate until July 31, after which they would increase to 2c. Calls to other networks cost 14c per 30 seconds and text messages to other networks are charged at 5c.

Subscribers can download ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, MTV Music live and the MTV Shorts for free. They can also take up video on demand, which is available for free during the launch period.

Customers can top up on www.mtvmobile.com.mt, with Go mobile top-up cards or visit the MTV Mobile outlet at the Embassy in Valletta.

There is no time-window on mobile top-ups and the Sim cards are available for €20, which includes €15 credit or customers can buy a personalised number Sim card at €10 without credit.
