I am conducting research on a Pietà chapel, which dates back to the 16th century. I would be very interested in knowing whether any old photographs and/or paintings exist that show any coats of arms that cannot be seen anymore because of erosion, damage etc. The part below the arch, in the chapel’s annex, is of particular interest. The information I have so far shows that Saint Ġorġ Preca used to give Christian doctrine lessons at the chapel and that Don Gaetano Mannarino had held meetings in the sacristy.
One can visit the chapel after the 7am daily Mass.
Any information can be sent to PO Box 16, Msida.
