Romain Raynaldy quoted Renzo Piano, “the mastermind behind the City Gate project which is underway in Valletta”, as saying that, as an architect, “You need to know the city’s most profound rituals, understand it, really penetrate it...You have to know a city to like it. And you start to like it when you discover its secrets.” Mr Piano goes on to say that he “melts” into a city where he plans a new project.

Did Mr Piano do all this in Valletta? If he did, why does he want it to have a topless theatre (and gate) and a Parliament building on stilts?
