A scheme encouraging investment in photovoltaic panels is being reopened between Wednesday and August 10 when the Malta Resources Authority will be accepting applications or the installation of these panels against a grant of up to 50 per cent of the expense up to €3,000.

Applications can be downloaded from www.mra.org.mt . Applications cal also be sent by post and in the case of Gozo, they can be deposited in a purposely set up box at the Meusac offices in Sta Marta Street, Victoria.

The authority said that through the feed-in tariffs announced yesterday, those investing in such a system would enjoy a guaranteed feed-in rate of €0.25 for each kWh (Malta) and €0.28 for each kWh (Gozo) generated.

A previous similar scheme had been stopped prematurelybecause of inconsistencies in several applications.
