Artist Joe Camilleri, 86, has decided to bequeath 140 photographs and 6,000 slides to Heritage Malta.

Mr Camilleri presented a copy of his will to Heritage Malta chairman Mario Tabone at the opening ceremony of his retrospective photography exhibition, Into My Imagination.

Although he only began to study photography when he retired in 1982, Mr Camilleri has achieved huge success with his work, winning a considerable number of awards in some of the most renowned competitions in the world.

The collection consists of masterpieces chosen by the artist himself. Mr Camilleri said that by donating his work to Heritage Malta, he wants to keep his collection intact and set an example to others.

The Into My Imagination collection can be viewed free of charge at Heritage Malta's head office in Merchants Street, Valletta until tomorrow from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m.
