I totally agree with the editorial of March 2, regarding the suggestion about free medicine being given to the sick and old people who, at present, have to wait for a long time to collect their medicine. This problem of collecting free medicine has taken quite a long time to be settled and a lot of sick and old people are still suffering from this situation.

It should be left to one's choice. Those who opt to pay for the convenience of collecting their medicine from a nearby pharmacy should be allowed to do so even if they have a nominal fee, while those who want to carry on as they are now should be allowed to do so too.

In the long run, there will be less pressure on the government pharmacies and the queues would definitely be reduced and people would be served much quicker.

So, please, I appeal to the authorities, to settle this imminently.
