The Birds' Section at the Ta' Qali Petting Farm is being closed to the public with immediate effect after some of the peacocks and turkeys at the Ta’ Qali Petting Farm have been found to have salmonella enteritidis, the Agriculture Parliamentary Secretariat said this morning.

The secretariat said an analysis was carried out by the Veterinary Regularisation Department.

The section will reopen to the public once results for the disease prove negative.
