Embellishments works carried out by the Gaia Foundation at the Peace Grove near Ghajn Tuffieha tower were inaugurated by Environment Minister Leo Brincat this morning.

The minister said that the project was a symbol of the direct link between the environment, sustainable development, peace and justice.

The grove, he said, was tribute to personalities who made a name for themselves in the fight for world peace. They included Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, the Kennedies and Dag Hammerskjold.

Mr Brincat had a special mention for Nelson Mandela, who is presently in hospital fighting for his life.
