Public Broadcasting Services is dropping all its pending cases against the Broadcasting Authority in a bid to strengthen collaboration and commitment.

PBS and the BA said in a joint statement this morning that in the past days they had extensive discussions with the aim of improving the level of communication and increase collaboration.

The PBS board of directors acknowledged the BA’s important constitutional role to ensure balance and impartiality. It also acknowledged that it was important for the country to have a strong state broadcasting service which produced quality programmes.

BA chairman Anthony J Tabone this morning paid a courtesy visit to the PBS’s Creativity Hub in Guardamangia, where he was welcomed by the new chairman of PBS Tonio Portughese.
