Patients are to be directly affected by new industrial action by paramedics  from Wednesday.

The Union Haddiema Maghqudin said that since there has been no breakthrough in the stalemate on a sectoral agreement , it had decided on new industrial action by radiographers, physiotherapists, occupational; therapists, podologists, medical laboratory scientists, speech language pathologists and audiologists.

The union said that outpatients will have a minimum waiting time of 30 minutes from arrival for their appointment. There will be no new referrals for hearing aids for adults and there will no visits for new cases in homes for the elderly unless there is a danger to life.

The union said it condemned a small number of people in administration who had tried to intimidate the workers.
