A man has been placed on probation for two years after attacking a nurse and security guard at Mater Dei Hospital, slightly injuring them.

Johan Sultana, 32, from Santa Venera, pleaded guilty to slightly injuring security guard Richard Seguna and nurse, Andrew Grech on May 8 last year.

Mr Seguna was scratched while Mr Grech had been grabbed by the neck.

Mr Sultana admitted to 14 charges which included threatening, harassing and assaulting public officers and relapsing.

In a pre-sentencing report drawn up by a probation officer Gordon Grech, the magistrate noted how his behavioural problems when it came to his fiery temper had improved. The victims had forgiven Mr Sultana and he also issued an apology to them.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli placed him on probation for two years.
