Passengers on board this morning’s Ryanair flight to Girona, scheduled to leave Malta at 9.25 a.m. are still waiting for the flight to take off.

The passengers were boarded as usual but were told that the aircraft had lost its slot as a result of a strike by air traffic controllers in France.

The airline will now have to wait until it is given another slot before it can leave Malta for its destination.
