A 20-year-old woman from St Paul's Bay is in critical condition after the car she was riding in smashed into a parked car.

Police said the accident occurred on Vjal il-Labour in Naxxar at 1am.

The car was being driven by a 39-year-old man, who was only slightly injured.

The Civil Protection Department had to assist to get the two people out of the car.

Investigations are still underway.
