The political parties covered their political billboards overnight as the country started its wait for the outcome of the general election.

The billboards were covered with white sheets, in terms of an agreement reached between the two parties.

Meanwhile, food kiosks have started being placed in St Joseph High Road, Hamrun, in anticipation of a Labour victory.

Small groups of people started gathering as early as 8.45 a.m. near Labour and PN headquarters and in some squares, particularly in Paola and Rabat.

However a firm indication of the result is not expected until Noon, with the sorting of ballot papers due to start in 11 a.m.
