The hunters’ petition calling for the safeguard of minority rights was this evening presented to Parliament by Planning Parliamentary Secretary Michael Falzon.

He said the petition was signed by 104,293 people and he was tabling it because he did what he believed in.

“I believe in people’s rights so I have no problem presenting a petition in the name of the 104,293 signatories... All people deserve to have their rights safeguarded... It is not acceptable that because someone has a hobby one is considered a second class citizen.”

Dr Falzon said that although he had not touched a hunting gun for 20 years, certain section of the media were trying to make fun of him and make him because he always had the courage to speak about what he believed in.
