The Nationalist Party said today that the delay in the completion of the new parliament building was another example of incompetence by Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi.

It said Mr Mizzi had wasted six months to make up his mind on what to do with the building. Then last July he promised that the project would be ready by the end of September.

Yesterday he did not attend a meeting of the House Business Committee to explain the situation, despite having said he would do so.

The party said this was the latest of failures by the minister. Over the past 18 months the Coast Road and Kappara Flyover projects had also fallen behind schedule.

The minister had also let Arriva leave Malta and it would take him a year to replace it by a new company.
