Sedqa is organising another parenting skills course for parents of adolescents. This will be the second intake this year, after the success of past courses.

The course, coordinated by the agency's Prevention Services, is aimed at parents of young people aged between 11 and 16. The five-lecture course, to be delivered by professional staff, will deal with topics such as effective communication between parents and adolescents, peer pressure, sexuality, addictions, internet misuse, and psychological development.

Sessions, which will be in Maltese, will be held on Thursdays, starting October 15, and will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. at Paul Pace hall, Sedqa Prevention Services, 5, Braille Street, St Venera. There will be a €12 fee per person. During these lectures, related educational material will be also distributed.

Such courses are interactive, thus permitting only a limited number of participants. Few places are available. Child care will also be available.

Those interested may call Elizabeth Scerri on 2388 5110 or visit www.sedqa.gov.mt for more details. Deadline for applications is October 12.
