Two parental skills courses in Maltese will be organised shortly by Aġenzija Sedqa’s Prevention Services.

A six-lecture course entitled Inrabbu ’l Uliedna Aħjar is aimed at parents of children aged 10 or younger. It will deal with topics such as leadership styles, phases of child psychology, effective communication within the family, responsible involvement of children in the family, sexuality and substance abuse.

Morning sessions, which start on October 19, will be held between 9.30 and 11.30 a.m., while evening sessions, which start on October 21, will be held between 6 and 8 p.m.

The other course is aimed at parents of children aged between 11 and 16. This five-session course will deal with issues such as the phases of teenage psychology, effective communication with teenagers, dealing with peer-pressure, media and leisure-time, sexuality during teenage and substance abuse. This course will start on October 18 and will be held between 6 and 8 p.m.

The course fee is €12 per person. The course venue is St Joseph’s Home, St Joseph’s High Road, St Venera.
