A static display of more than 900 vehicles at the Lufthansa Technik Hangar area at Malta International Airport today attracted huge crowds of people today creating traffic jams in Marsa and Qormi.

Visitors had to park near St Vincent de Paul in Luqa and take shuttles to MIA.

The display, in this year's edition of Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina, an annual charity event, is on until 3.30 p.m.

Another 150 vehicles will also be participating in a circuit and sprint events on the airport's taxiway.

The vehicles on display ranged from vintage to classics, modern and brand new. Modified cars will also be on display together with a series of supercars that were brought over to Malta purposely for the event.

Headlining the Super Car Paddock is the Bugatti Veyron Gran Sport and Pagani Zonda S. The latter isaccompanied by Pagani Founder and chief designer, Horacio Pagani.

Also on display are Ferrari's 458 Spider, Lotus' Evora S and Toyota's Hilux Arctic Challenge.

The show included some beautifully choreographed and breathtaking car drifting.
