A 69-year-old man was robbed of a small sum of money when he was held up by a lone thief in Ninu Cremona Street, Paola, yesterday afternoon. The police said they are holding a man for investigations in connection with the hold-up.

The police said the victim, who was unhurt, was approached by a hooded man who demanded money. The thief, who was armed with a knife, then ran away with "a very small amount of cash", the police said.
