The Palumbo Group has received an award for the design and manufacture of a superyacht in the World Superyacht Awards 2016 held in Florence, Italy.

The awards recognise the remarkable ingenuity and innovation demanded by the design, engineering and construction of the world’s finest luxury yachts.

Organised by Boat International, the event is attended by the elite of the superyacht world, owners and industry leaders who come together to recognise the finest superyachts launched throughout 2015.

Among the winners was Columbus, which forms part of the Palumbo Group in Malta. The superyacht was the 40.1-metre Divine, built in aluminium by the Palumbo yard in Italy.

The interior accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins consisting of a full-beam master suite, two doubles and two twins plus a Pullman berth, all with entertainment centres, flat screen Samsung television sets and en suite bathroom facilities.

There is also accommodation for seven crew in four cabins. A special feature of the saloon is a pair of folding sea balconies on each side.

The deck offers space for al fresco dining, while port and starboard stairways lead down to the luxurious beach club, which includes a Jacuzzi spa, bar, gym and bathroom.

The Palumbo Group’s largest facility in the Mediterranean is that in Malta, which the group took over six years ago.
