Serie A club Palermo is considering appointing Giovanni Tedesco as its first team coach to help current coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
According to Italian media, Schelotto does not have the necessary licence requirements to lead the team from the bench during games, a situation which has led Palermo to evaluate the option of adding Tedesco, a former club player, to the coaching staff.
Tedesco confirmed to Times of Malta that he is in talks with the Italian club.
He started this season as coach of Birkirkara but lost his job last month in the wake of the team's 4-0 defeat to Valletta.
Last season Tedesco was in charge of Floriana.
