A man who threw paint remover over a car, causing more than €2,377 in damages was conditionally discharged by a court today and ordered to pay damages within a year.

Anthony Gauci, 59 of Fgura, admitted to having caused the damage to the Ford Escort owned by Sean Felice of Tarxien, last Monday evening.

During the arraignment, defence counsel Anglu Farrugia said the two men had been involved in a collision a year ago and there had been a 'provacation' by Mr Felice. (An insurance company eventually paid for the damages caused in the collision).

Lawyer Edward Gatt, appearing for Mr Felice, said his client wanted the damages paid for and wanted a court order to protect his client.

The court then proceeded to convict Mr Gauci, conditionally dicharging him for two years and ordering him to pay the damages witin a year. It also issued a protection order in favour of Mr Felice.
