As evidenced by the happenings last weekend, nothing seemed to be done to enforce the by-law indicating which Paceville streets the open consumption of alcohol is now banned in.
Although welcome by residents, the by-law cannot remain in print. All it takes is police officers on the beat to make sure that troublemakers are moved on or fined. Local wardens don't seem to mind passing by regularly to dish out parking tickets at any time of day or night, so why cannot they get used to enforce this too?
