The Planning Authority is assessing a number of properties around Sliema for possible scheduling.
It said the process involves detailed consultations with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
The Authority said that in order to minimise the risk of damage to the properties (in order to reduce their value) it is standard practice not to disclose the address of the properties until they are officially scheduled as required by law.
Once the scheduling is listed in the Government Gazette, the known owners will be informed.
The Authority uses the planning tool of scheduling to legally protect properties which are deemed to contain heritage significance. The full list of properties which are scheduled may be viewed from the online register that the Authority has on its website www.pa.org.mt.
