The owner of Tyson Butcher, Jonathan Pace, was today granted bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €4,000.

Mr Pace, 31, from Gudja, stands charged with the attempted murder of Vince Muscat, known as il-Kohhu, firing a gun in an inhabited area, causing damage and not having a licence for the gun.

Police Inspector Keith Arnaud objected to bail but lawyers Joseph Giglio and Giannella Demarco argued it was not right for their client to be denied bail when the victim had testified.

Lawyer Arthur Azzopardi appeared for Mr Muscat.
