A total of 7,825 overspeeding contraventions were detected by speed cameras in the three months between the beginning of December and the end of February, information given in Parliament shows.

The biggest number of contraventions, 1,472, were detected at Notary Zarb Street in Attard, followed by the Msida-bound lane of the Birkirkara By-pass at 1,343 and Ħal-Far Road at 928.

The statistics for the other cameras were the following: Burmarrad Road – 268; Birkirkara By-pass (towards Iklin) – 208; Sebħ Street (Qormi towards Rabat) – 58; Sebħ Street (towards Qormi) – 45; Mdina Road (Qormi to Żebbuġ) – 439; Mdina Road (Qormi to Marsa) – 471; Mdina Road (Żebbuġ to Rabat) – 30; Mdina Road (Żebbuġ to Żebbuġ) – 283;

Regional Road (to San Ġwann) – 75; Regional Road (to St Julians) – 88; Regional Road (to Marsa) – 851; Regional Road (to Msida) 246; St Andrew’s Road – 344; Tal-Barrani Road (to Żejtun) – 310; Tal-Barrani Road (to Marsa) – 366.
