The organisers of the America's Cup may considering postponing the 2009 event in Valencia due to uncertainty caused by a legal suit.

Larry Ellison's BMW Oracle has taken Cup holders Alinghi to court over rules they say are unfairly weighted in the defender's favour, including the right to disqualify teams or bar them from entering.

Organisers ACM said they would be talking to Alinghi and other parties including the competitors and was "considering all options, including the possibility of postponing the event to a later date".

NBA guard Parker takes two-year break from French duty

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker will not answer a French basketball call-up for the next two years after being asked by his NBA coach to focus on club duty.

"I've discussed the last European Championship with Pop (Gregg Popovich, Spurs coach)," Parker said. "He clearly told me I would not play the next Euro qualifiers next year. He wants me to rest a bit during the off season. It means I will have a two-year break from France."

France finished last month's European Championship in eighth place and failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.
