World 100 metres record holder Asafa Powell has pulled out of Friday's Paris Golden League meeting because of a groin injury. Powell, who sustained the injury at the Jamaican championships late last month, will also miss the Rome meeting on July 13 but should be fit for the World Championships from August 25 in Osaka, Japan.

Tennis - Masters Cup moves to London

The prestigious end-of-season Masters Cup will switch from Shanghai to London from 2009. The tournament will also be renamed the ATP World Tour Final. The leading singles and doubles players from the tour will compete at the London O2 Arena - formerly the Millennium Dome - for $4.5 million overall prize money. The matches will be played on a hard court at the centre of a 20,000-seat arena.

Cycling - Di Luca's hearing postponed

Giro d'Italia winner Danilo Di Luca's anti-doping hearing has been postponed until July 14. Di Luca was due to appear in front of CONI tomorrow to answer questions relating to a four-year probe into doctor Carlo Santuccione, who is alleged to have supplied athletes with doping products. His lawyer had asked for more time to prepare for the meeting.
