The Ornis Committee said this evening it had decided not to make a recommendation on the opening of the spring hunting season.

The committee said that in view of the fact that the European Court had not decided yet whether to order interim measures on the forthcoming spring hunting, the committee resolved that it should no tmake its recommendation so as not to prejudice Malta’s case, especially Malta’s stand over the legitimacy of a derogation applied by Malta over the past few years.

The committee also said it will seek legal advice from the Attorney General on procedures related to the interim measures.
