The Opposition MPs on the Parliamentary Committee for the Consideration of Bills walked out of a meeting of the committee yesterday in protest over a procedural decision by the chairman, Francis Zammit Dimech.

MLP Deputy Leader Anglu Farrugia said the committee had been discussing the Public Administration Bill when the opposition proposed amendments to clause 15.

Dr Zammit Dimech felt that the debate was exhausted and moved to the vote on the clause.

The Opopsition MPs – Dr Farrugia, Owen Bonnici and Helena Dalli, felt that was not the way how a proper debate should be conducted and therefore walked out in protest.
