The Opposition leader has written to Speaker Michael Frendo asking him to reconvene Parliament next week to determine whether the government still enjoys a Parliamentary majority.

Parliament was scheduled to reconvene on January 18.

In his letter, Dr Joseph Muscat said the request was being made after taking note of the developments on the political scene in Malta in the past hours.

The letter, which can be read in the pdf link below, is not a motion of no confidence.
