The president of the Public Accounts Committee, Tonio Fenech (PN) has written to the Speaker of the House urging him to ensure that the business of the committee as not obstructed by the twisting of facts.

Mr Fenech recalled that last week he had asked the Speaker, Anglu Farrugia, to rule whether the government's contract with Henley and Partners could be published so that it could be examined by the committee.

He pointed out that when the committee discussed the request, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici said the contract was the subject of a court case and the government, as a party in the case, was bound by a court decree which said that it may be exhibited in court but not published.

Mr Fenech said the opposition had established that the governemnt never exhibited the contract in court and it was not true that the court had issued a decree against its publication.

What the governemnt had exhibited was a confidentiality agreement, which was very different.
