Please refer to the report in last Saturday's paper regarding Operation Wasp.

There are two points that appeared in the news item which, unless corrected, would give a negative message in encouraging people in the abuse of pesticides' application.

The first is that persons should never carry out the application of pesticides as sprays without adequate protective clothing as shown in the photo, where no facemasks and gloves were seen to be worn. One person close by was even wearing short sleeves.

The second point is in the application of three types of pesticides to control the German wasp, when one pesticide, such an insecticide of the Pyrethroid class, should have been sufficient.
