An online calculator and a mobile app have been launched to enable consumers to calculate their energy and water consumption based on the new rates that were introduced for domestic users on Monday.

The app was launched by Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi when he visited a family in San Gwaa.

He explained how customers can use the online calculator and mobile app to check the savings made. Consumers have also the facility to make comparisons between the new and the old tariffs.

Minister Dr Konrad Mizzi, explained that bills that will be issued will include cross-over rates - rates covering the periods both before and after last Monday depending on the date of the last meter reading.

The online calculator can either be accessed on www.energy.gov.mt by clicking on the main banner or alternatively, one can download the mobile app, “Bill Savings”, from smart phones operating on an Android Operating Systems or iOS. The app can also be downloaded from the Ministry for Energy and Health website.

More information can be obtained by calling freephone 8007 2222.

The online calculator and the mobile app were developed by MITA in collaboration with ARMS Ltd.
