Committee members of Famalco Group’s FamiljaFund have an ongoing campaign to strengthen work relationships among employees and to generate additional funds.

This initiative was created by the group in 2018 with its main objective being to safeguard employees and associates who find themselves in financial difficulties arising from an illness or accident.

Although primarily relying on monthly and yearly donations from its 120-member pool, committee members have taken the next step and began setting up their own popular events, through which donations and profits received flow directly into the fund, to be saved for a rainy day.

With the recent Workers Day public holiday, FamiljaFund took the opportunity to organise a well-needed fenkata at the Tal-Karri Fields, Ta’ Qali, which saw over 170 guests take the chance to relax over a drink and deliciously cooked rabbit. Following the lunch, employees and guests enjoyed playing games while prizes were given to lottery winners.

The group’s director and co-founder Hermann Mallia said: “It’s always great to meet employees with their family and friends outside the office. We’re thankful for the hard work they put in every day, so finding an opportunity to show our gratitude is always high on our list, especially when it’s for a good cause.”
