Alfred Zammit, the popular One TV presenter, has won €3,000 in compensation from the Nationalist Party’s media editors over an article entitled ‘Issa Malta tal-Laburisti biss’.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale found libellous the article and news item on Net Television quoting someone claiming to be Mr Zammit’s cousin.

The person, who had his voice changed, claimed that Mr Zammit had said, shortly after the election, that Labourites would be favoured with the Labour Party in government. The court ordered Net TV editor Louiselle Vassallo and Nazzjon editor Alexander Attard to pay €1,500 each in compensation.

Lawyer Gavin Gulia appeared for Mr Zammit.
