A one-day scrabble tournament, held earlier this month at the Union Club in Sliema, attracted 28 players. In Group A, David Delicata and Kevin Abela, the two players who represented Malta at the World Championships in Malaysia last December, placed first and second respectively after winning six out of seven games.

Delicata managed a better spread of 676 points. Jojo Delia and Theresa Camilleri placed third and fourth respectively. First placed in Group B was Anna Borg, followed by Laura Borg, David Zammit and Pauline Cilia. Mario Seychell achieved the highest game score of 576 points.
