Parking has become a problem all over the island but that should not give the right to inconsiderate motorists to park on pavements completely blocking pedestrian access. At least four cars were blocking the pavement on the Ta’ Xbiex pavement recently.

From bad to worse

Were it not enough that Malta is now officially littered with billboards, the least the authorities could do is ensure the structure support is not an eyesore... as these chunks of rock holding down a billboard on the Coast Road testify.

No privacy

There is a missing panel separating two toilet cubicles at the male public convenience near Sirens pitch at St Paul’s Bay. The lack of privacy makes the cubicles awkward to use. This and other shortcomings in the public convenience have been there for months on end, residents say. With summer around the corner, the area needs immediate attention.

Mind your step

The pavement opposite the Buġibba church at the top of Triq it-Turisti needs urgent attention. The brick paving is in shambles and those making use of the pavement should better watch their step to avoid the holes and end up being injured. An accident waiting to happen.

Upgrade needed

A central strip at Pietà is in urgent need of maintenance. The outer part is so weathered it serves no purpose and definitely does not help separate it from the road. Cars heading towards the main road risk driving straight onto the strip.

Damaged fixtures

A light fixtures embedded in the ground in Merchants Street, Valletta is a grave danger to those walking there. The glass has been broken and rubbish accumulating inside may make the unsuspecting pedestrian think s/he can just walk over it. The results could be a nasty leg injury, if not worse.
