Notices to discourage throwing garbage in a plot of land in Triq it-Torri tal-Kaptan, San Pawl tat-Tarġa have gone unnoticed and the land is being turned into one giant dump. The local council and Mepa have both been informed, however, the eyesore remains there all for all to ‘enjoy’.

Floral distress

A flower vendor, who can usually be seen at the built-side at Tigné Seafront, apparently does not realise he is causing an inconvenience to both residents and passers-by. Many motorists stop near his van to buy flowers, often in no parking spaces in front of garages, also blocking the area. The narrow pavement is obstructed too as a result. Somebody ought to explain this to the vendor and ask him to relocate to a more suitable location.

Safe passage

The point has been raised before... many times before, in fact. However, it persists. Simply put, when walking from the City Gate entrance to the MCP car park side or vice versa one risks life and limb. Is it so difficult to put some road markings and assign Transport Malta on site to direct Traffic, mainly buses, and ensure a safe passage to pedestrians?

Dirty parking

This is the filthy state the Park & Ride area in Floriana, is in. Why is this being ignored by the authorities, whoever that may be? Does it fall under the responsibility of the central government or the local council? Or is everybody’s business nobody’s business?

Tent site

Massive tents are occupying the swimming area at Pembroke and remain there even after visits by the police. One of the tents, put up by a large group, was so big it took over half the parking area. To make matters worse, the tents, erected close to the reverse osmosis plant, do not have any sanitary facilities. Should this be allowed to happen?

Smooth ride

Triq il-Madonna tal-Karmnu, in Santa Venera needs some serious attention urgently. Residents say repairs have been ongoing for over six years and, when it rains, the surface turns to mud. In June, work had started to lay tarmac but this had to stop due to telecommunication cables problems and drainage works. The local council apparently blames Transport Malta which, in turn, blames the Water Services Corporation. Meanwhile, residents cannot use their garages and promises made continue to be broken.
