A subscriber called Go’s customer care because a number of channels suddenly disappeared from his TV. The Go staff member tried to help, even saying he would “reset” the service from their end, adding, though, that he was not confident things would improve, as they had similar complaints from other subscribers, too. The problem persisted and the subscriber called again. This time he was put through to the technical support team, which immediately suggested a solution – tuning the TV set – and the problem was solved. Should there not be better coordination to ensure better customer support?

Left to rot

An Opel Astra has been abandoned at Depiro Street, corner with Dingli Street, Sliema, for a year. It has an expired licence disc – April 2014 – and no action has been taken over the past months to remove or impound the vehicle, which is accumulating dust and utilising valuable parking space for other cars whose owners are paying their annual road licence. Action is called for.

Smoking gun

The driver of Bus132, doing route X2 on Wednesday morning, was seen making his way past the former Lowenbrau brewery towards Marsa, while puffing away on a cigarette. The bus was packed with passengers. Authorities should come down on drivers breaking the law like a ton of bricks.

Speedy inconvenience

The Speedy Petrol Station in Sliema is not content to stay within the confines of its property but is using the whole stretch of Tower Road right up to Barracuda as stores. Ten vehicles are parked along the front, clearly being used as storage for oils, tyres, etc. Not only is this an inconvenience to the residents in the area but a danger, as these items are all flammable.

Vacant slot

A vehicle with the letters OPM (presumably standing for the Office of the Prime Minister) was seen ‘parked’ in the middle of Ġlormu Cassar Avenue, Valletta, last Wednesday morning, at about 9.30, right next to an empty parking space. Did this escape the attention of the many Transport Malta officials stationed at Castille Square, just a few metres up the road?
