The saga of the bread roll provided on Air Malta flights seemed to reach rock bottom last week. Passengers on board Thursday’s flight to Rome were presented with a roll spread with butter and two thin slivers of green peppers. Thank God the cabin crew make up for that. A passenger travelling to London on the same day with a five-month-old baby got constant help from a staff member and was even upgraded to business class to make her flight more comfortable. Customer service at its very best.

What view?

This is what passersby in Buġibba are compelled to see when they are viewing St Paul’s Island every evening. Cannot the local council ensure there is a regular garbage collection service, if need be even more than once a day? It should then come down hard on offenders who take out their rubbish early or leave it outside overnight.

Valletta’s new vision

The garbage situation also leaves much to be desired in Valletta. This photo shows a mound of garbage on the corner of St John’s Street. The local council should also ensure that a regular collection service is provided, especially since there are a number of shops in the city.

One big rip off

Does Malta International Airport care about the service provided by outlets at the airport? Or is it ok if passengers are ripped off? A person was last week charged €2 for a paper cup half-full of black coffee. What a shame.

Shoddy work

This sloppily-covered drain is ready, waiting for someone to break a leg. It has been like this since a wheelchair ramp to the Qala public washroom was built more than a year ago. It needs to be covered immediately.
