Disaster zone
The playing field at Fleur-de-Lys in Birkirkara resembles a disaster zone. Broken bottles have often been left lying around. Swings have been damaged and cannot be used, while the wood of the benches has also been vandalised. Security cameras should be installed immediately, especially now that more families tend to take their children out, especially in the evenings.
Maternal respect
Those attending evening Mass at St Catherine’s Home for the Elderly, in Attard on May 9 were informed that, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, a memento would be distributed to all mothers in the congregation before they leave. It was explained that the officiating priest objected to this being done during Mass, as usually happens. The Archbishop should demand an explanation from the priest and have him make a public apology.
An early wake-up call
If the loud music, noise, fireworks and irresponsible parking up to midnight on May 9 is what the adjacent residents must endure in future from the new San Ġwann Nursery, the authorities should wake up and take immediate action before it becomes habitual.
Proofreaders sought
It looks like whoever proofread the wording on this sign before it was displayed at the Victoria parking area needs to know the difference between Z and Ż. The spelling in the last line leaves no doubt about this.
