This is what the cafè at the President’s Kitchen Garden in San Anton looked like on Easter Monday. One would expect those frequenting this venue to be more considerate and not leave such a mess behind them. Is there no supervision? Do patrons need to be told not to litter and to keep such a supposedly prestigious area clean and tidy? Does nobody care? We can only hope that someone at San Anton Palace reads this and does something about it.

Elbowed out

It may well be that Valletta is proposing more cycle racks for those who commute by bicycle, but a bigger effort is evidently required. The one in St George’s Square is fenced in and encroached upon by the tables of a commercial outlet, which does not make it easily accessible, to put it mildly. One wonders who decides about such things, not to say anything about enforcement.

Disaster in waiting

A gas cylinder is very often spotted resting on a two-storey high wall in Triq il-Velleran, Fgura. From what one can see, it appears it could topple over and fall on to the road. If that is the case, then it is a disaster just waiting to happen.

Ripple effect

The rates for electricity for busi-nesses have now been lowered by 25 per cent. Has this resulted in lower prices being charged or must one wait? Consumers should be advised not to hold their breath!

They’re being served

A mobile kiosk at Triq is-Salib l-Aħmar in the Mrieħel industrial zone is causing havoc. Apart from its occupying part of the road with a number of signs, motorists stopping to buy from the kiosk often park haphazardly. The problems culminate at lunchtime. Authorities, please take note.

Tower desecration

The desecration of what is probably the only historical buil-ding in Sliema continues. Where are the authorities en-trusted with protec-ting the national heritage? And where is our civic pride?
