This evening’s encounter between Floriana and Tarxien Rainbows promises to be an entertaining and hard-fought affair as both teams are keen to climb up the table.

Floriana coach Luis Oliveira was disappointed with his team’s complacent approach in the second half of their game against St Andrew’s as the Greens conceded two soft goals after surging into a three-goal lead by half-time.

“It’s unacceptable that we suffered such a mental collapse at this level,” the Floriana coach said.

“After a great first-half performance, the team switched off after the restart and we were in danger of throwing away the three points.”

Oliveira has no selection problems as defender Andrea Scozzese appears to have recovered from the slight injury that forced him to leave the field in the second half of Wednesday’s match.

Tarxien warmed up for today’s game with a 5-0 thrashing of Naxxar.

Coach Jacques Scerri is still without Matthew Tabone (knee) and Anderson (ankle).
