League leaders okmalta.com have now stretched their unbeaten run to three weeks in the MSV Life National Leagues, taking all eight from a beleaguered Blitzkrieg side to increase their advantage to six points.
Second-placed Ramis drop-ped precious points in a 6-2 win over Supreme and are just two points ahead of defending champions Fina who took maximum spoils from their clash with Malta International Airport.
XS stay fourth after their 6-2 victory over Royal Shock while Turu’s Knights registered a rather strange 7-1 scoreline in their win over Pin Strikers.
okmalta.com clearly mean business this season, having struggled for consistency in the previous campaign.
Against Blitzkrieg, they opened the scoring with a convincing 826-685 game one win, and then made it 4-0 when taking the second 781-651.
They wrapped up the whitewash with an 829-700 game three win, for a 2,436 team series.
However, it was Fina who produced the best team total of the week, a great 2,451 effort as they tore into strugglers MIA.
The champions were quick to stamp their authority on the match as they opened with an 817-680 and then doubled their advantage with a closer 781-742 game two win.
MIA’s best effort came in the final game, but their 770 was no match from their opponents’ 853 who completed the 8-0 rout.
Second-placed Ramis played a part in allowing okmalta.com to increase their top-flight lead, as they dropped two points in their last match.
Game one was a formidable contest, falling narrowly to Ramis for the early lead (829-812), and then they also doubled up thanks to a 776-734 game two win.
Supreme clearly felt they were capable of taking something away from the confrontation, and, in fact, managed to snatch a two-point share with a 761-783 game three win.
Bowlers of the week
