A Health Department official has asked the police to investigate what appears to have been the burning of human remains (bones) near the Addolorata Cemetery.

The Health Ministry said the report was filed to the police this afternoon.

It said the fire was noted near Sta Lucija outside the cemetery grounds. The official noted that items that were being burnt included wood, cloth and human remains, the ministry said.

The official works at the Addolorata Cemetery, which is managed by the Health Department.
