An off-duty policeman rushed to help an Italian man who this morning fell unconscious while on the beach at Żonqor, Marsascala.

The incident happened at about 11.30am when a man rushed into a diving centre calling for help.

The policeman, Glenn Vella, followed him to the beach where they found a man unconscious, possibly because of low blood pressure. He was given first aid and revived until an ambulance arrived.

A Swedish diving instructor also assisted.
