We have just celebrated Europe Day.  I hear you all chanting while we sway to Beethoven's gloriously joyous, aptly called Ode to Joy.

But then strange things grip us even in Europe let alone in Malta. The Greeks seem hell-bent on tumbling out of the Euro zone; and the new French president heaven-bent on scuppering the German way of forcing the Greeks—and the French-- into austere servility.

In this gloom and definite doom I see no other way out but to change the Ode to Joy as the unifying anthem to the more apt and easy to call out: mayday mayday mayday. Even the month suits the change. Maybe some Sheik or Chinese magnate will come and save us all from our sinking fate
