Victor Obinna has urged patience from West Ham fans after the club’s poor start to the season.

The Hammers are yet to register a point this campaign following defeats to Aston Villa, Bolton and Manchester United.

Manager Avram Grant now faces the daunting task of hosting Premier League champions Chelsea tomorrow as he looks to quash speculation about his future at the Hammers by dragging the club off the bottom of the table.

Obinna, who signed on a season-long loan from Inter last month, says it is only a matter of time before the team start winning games, and maintains that pulling off a shock result against their London rivals tomorrow is a possibility.

“The manager is working on that and we just need a little time for the players to come together,” the Nigerian told www.whufc.com.

“We need to work with each other and understand our strengths. Why can’t we do something against Chelsea?

“Everything is possible in football. You can never tell. Anything can happen in 90 minutes.”

Obinna may get his first taste of English football this weekend.

“I would like to be involved against Chelsea if the manager decides. I believe it is going to be one of the toughest games we have played this season.”
